Charles Kennedy passed away yesterday. He was a giant of liberal politics in the UK, and well respected by all involved in politics. He stood down as Lib Dem leader in 2005, after leading the party to its best election result since Lloyd George’s days, and had been an MP for 32 years until he lost his seat in May. His political foresight was unparalleled, having stood against the Iraq war in the face of universal support for an invasion, and begged his party not to go into coalition with the Conservatives in 2010. As our tribute to the great man, we thought we’d publish some of his greatest quotes.
