In the run up to the World Cup, many are asking 'are FIFA corrupt'? The decision to award Qatar the 2022 world cup seemed odd at the time, Qatar being a a country with no footballing culture and laws incompatible with the culture of most of the worlds football fans. Since the World Cup was awarded, it has been revealed that Qatar can not hold the World Cup in the summer, that the conditions for those working on construction are appalling, and that there was at least some kind of corruption in the selection process.

Former member of FIFA's Independent Governance Committee, Alexandra Wrage, talks to Newsnight about FIFA and corruption.
